Watch Movies
HTPCs provide a great way for you to enjoy DVDs and Blu-ray discs.  Download Movies or  store and playback your personal video library. Copy & store all of your DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs right on your HTPC. for easy playback later without having to insert a disc. Remember those vacation videos that you took last summer or your kid’s school play? Whatever the content, now you can access it anytime with a simple click of your remote. Heck, you might even embarrass your kids by breaking out that video of them dressed like an talking tree in the 2nd grade school play and showing it to their dates years later.

Live TV and DVR
If you add a TV tuner to your HTPC, you can receive your local broadcast television transmissions in full, high-definition (where available), free of charge. If you have HOT or YES and want to keep that service you can get a special Tuner card that can integrate with those service and allow you to watch and record all the channels you subscribe to as well.

Your HTPC can also work as a DVR. Along with live TV viewing, you can watch TV on your terms. An HTPC can be used just like a digital video recorder (DVR). Record your favorite shows and watch them when you are ready. You can pause and rewind live TV, and skip commercials.

Subscribing via Torrents to TV shows is also an option*. Many TV shows are available to download online. You can “subscribe” to these shows and your HTPC will automatically download new episodes after they air and they will be ready to watch.

Because of all the capabilities of a HammerDD HTPC many users end up either cancelling or lowering their subscription to other services (cable subscriptions, online movie rentals, movie ticket purchases, DVD/Bluray purchases, etc).  In our experience most customers are able to cut at least ?100 to ?250 from their lives each month from subscription and entertainment services they no longer need, and if you download your media then this number grows as quickly as your media collection.
